I have a lot of friends who have to travel during the Christmas season in order to spend time with their family. Because this is an extremely stressful experience, I can’t think of a single friend who actually enjoys Christmas travel (but they continue to do it because they can’t imagine not spending Christmas Day with their family). Fortunately for me, Christmas travel is something that I never have to experience. The reason for this is that my entire family lives close to each other, so we don’t have to go far at all to be together for Christmas.

Although I don’t do any traveling for Christmas, I am going to be doing some traveling this year to kick off the New Year. After deciding that we need to have as much fun as possible to get 2009 started in the right way, my friends and I decided that we wanted to go to Salt Lake City to celebrate the New Year. From our flight to our hotel to our rental car, all of the arrangements are actually made, and we are simply waiting a little while longer until it is time to officially get our trip started.
