Although every one’s attention is currently focused on Michael Phelps, Nastia Liukin and the 2008 Beijing Olympics, it was only six years ago when the Winter Olympics were hosted in Salt Lake City. From the commemoration of 9/11 during many of the ceremonies to Sarah Hughes winning the gold medal in women’s figure skating, there were a lot of amazing moments during the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to be present for many of these wonderful moments.

Even though the city was quite crazy during the Olympics, I was very glad that I made the decision to rent a car while I was there. If I hadn’t rented a car while I was in Salt Lake City, I don’t know how I would have managed to get around and get to the events that I wanted to see. I did have to deal with lots of traffic, but it was much easier than trying to deal with the overburdened public transportation in Salt Lake City. So, even though you won’t be going there for the Winter Olympics, if you visit Salt Lake City, do yourself a favor and rent a car while you are there.
